Our Goals

Learn about our top priorities for the referendum.

Cook County Schools is committed to prioritizing the needs of students, staff, and the broader community while making prudent financial investments. The investment plan was developed with four key goals in mind:

We prioritized improvements most frequently mentioned in nine community listening sessions, in addition to maintenance and educational adequacy needs identified in our building assessments.

The proposed plan includes several efforts to improve basic health and safety in our schools, including renovations to make spaces more accessible, strengthen building security, and improve indoor air quality and climate.

Question One’s proposed investments in common and flexible spaces, classroom renovations, and libraries aim to better equip our schools for collaborative learning, flexible instruction, and community education and events.

Questions Two and Three propose investments in physical education space, athletic fields, performing arts spaces, and locker rooms to strengthen extracurricular opportunities and support student development beyond the classroom.
